Good news!

Recently, the Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong (DAB) has put forward more than 40 constructive suggestions for an important meeting to be held next month. One of the key suggestions is that the mutual recognition mechanism for professional qualifications in multiple professional fields such as law, medical care, and accounting in the Greater Bay Area should be optimized.

Optimize the mutual recognition mechanism for different professional

On February 22, Li Huiqiang, member of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and advisor to the Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong, said at a press conference that in order to enhance the attractiveness of Hong Kong as a highland for the gathering of international high-end talents, it is recommended to comprehensively optimize the mutual recognition system for professional qualifications in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and strengthen relevant coordination work.

This measure can ensure that professionals from different places can go to Hong Kong for employment with their professional qualifications obtained locally, including law, medical care, accounting and other industries.

At present, relevant professionals who want to go to Hong Kong for development need to:

① Lawyer industry: Non-local legal talents need to pass specific assessments or hold internationally recognized qualifications before they can be exempted from some Hong Kong examinations.

② Medical industry: Hong Kong medical staff must pass local exams such as LMCHK to test professional knowledge, English and clinical skills.

③ Accounting industry: Hong Kong accountants must obtain HKICPA qualifications. Although there is some mutual exemption with the mainland CICPA, additional exams and practical experience are still required for full qualification recognition.

Although this proposal is still in the proposal stage, it reflects the inevitable trend of coordinated development in the Greater Bay Area. Looking to the future, we have reason to believe that the realization of this vision will be just around the corner.

By then, it will become more convenient and smooth for relevant professional talents to go to Hong Kong for development, and it will also inject new vitality into Hong Kong's continued prosperity.
