United States | Cancellation of pre-entry COVID-19 testing requirements

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention suddenly announced on the evening of June 10 that all passengers flying to the United States no longer require pre-trip testing (that is, no nucleic acid or antigen test within 24 hours, and a new crown recovery certificate within 90 days).

However, the policy will be re-evaluated every three months, and testing requirements may be resumed if a new variant virus emerges (so the current policy mainly benefits international students who go to the United States from June to September).

At present, some travelers to the United States have confirmed that they no longer need to provide nucleic acid test reports.

02

Italy | Entry without green pass

From June 1st, all people entering Italy will not need to show a "green pass", that is, they do not need to show a vaccine passport or a negative report of the new crown test before entry.

In addition, Italy's current order for masks in indoor venues will expire on June 15. At that time, entering indoor public places such as cinemas and concert halls will no longer be mandatory to wear masks. However, public transportation and campus mask orders may continue to be used.

03

Germany | Relaxation of summer entry epidemic prevention regulations

From June 1 to the end of August, passengers entering Germany no longer need to comply with the "3G" rules, that is, they do not need to prove that they have been vaccinated, or have recovered from infection, nor do they need to show a negative test certificate.

This summer, only travelers from regions where the virus has mutated will be subject to stricter rules of a 14-day quarantine upon entry. However, at present, no country has been designated by Germany as a virus mutation zone.

Since June 8, South Korea has officially relaxed entry regulations, and overseas entrants who have not been vaccinated will be exempt from quarantine when entering South Korea regardless of nationality.

In addition, South Korea's Incheon International Airport will also lift the curfew and fully resume international flights from the 8th.

In addition, the Ministry of Justice of South Korea has restarted the issuance of short-term visits and electronic visas for foreign tourists suspended for epidemic prevention reasons from June 1, which has been more than two years since the suspension of tourist visas in April 2020.

06

Japan | Resumption of admission to foreign tourists

The Japanese government has relaxed border port measures for new crown epidemic prevention since June 1, raising the maximum number of visitors in a single day from 10,000 to 20,000. From the 10th, it will resume admitting foreign tourists after about two years.

From June 10, 98 countries/regions, including the United States, China, and Hong Kong, which fall into the "blue" low-risk category, can enter Japan without quarantine.

07

Thailand | Cancellation of entry quarantine and pre-departure nucleic acid testing

From June 1, Thailand has cancelled all entry quarantine and pre-trip nucleic acid testing. Even tourists who have not been fully vaccinated only need to do an antigen test at the Thai entry airport.

U.S.-China flights are about to increase

More international flights expected to resume

According to the website of the Chinese embassy in the United States, Qin Gang, the Chinese ambassador to the United States, said on May 26 that the number of flights between China and the United States will increase soon. It is reported that the number of flights between China and the United States will soon increase from 18 to 24 flights per week.

It is reported that China Eastern Airlines Xi'an-Tokyo, Capital Airlines Xi'an-Lisbon, Hainan Airlines Xi'an-Brussels, Loong Air Xi'an-Tashkent, and Air China Xi'an-Karachi are all ready to resume flights in June.

In addition, on May 23, the State Council executive meeting further deployed a package of measures to stabilize the economy, including an orderly increase in domestic and international passenger flights. China Southern Airlines, Air China and Hainan Airlines have obtained the allocation of new international flight quotas from the Civil Aviation Administration.

This means that the "Five Ones" policy to control the number of international flights that has been implemented since March 2020 has been further broken.

China-US flights are increasing, and domestic flights are ready to resume. There are indications that more international flights are expected to resume in the future. However, we should be cautious about whether the entry and exit can be opened in the short term.

At present, many countries and economies around the world have successively announced the cancellation of comprehensive epidemic prevention measures; the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region has also relaxed epidemic restrictions and opened overseas entry channels for non-Hong Kong people.

On the other hand, the normalized prevention and control strategy, dynamic clearing strategy, and non-essential non-existence of my country's implementation are still continuing...

How to plan international travel in special times?

On the whole, it is the general trend to strive for positive development in the direction of normalization.

It is necessary to realize the value orientation of the supremacy of people and life, and to ensure normal international exchanges and economic development. Balance and trade-offs are not simple issues.
